Tom Hardy and Venom have paired up for one final waltz around the big screen. Venom: The Last Dance marks the actor’s third and final outing as the titular Marvel Comics character and will arrive in theaters Oct. 25 via Sony Pictures.
In the action-packed first trailer for the film, Hardy is back as journalist Eddie Brock, a man who bonded with an alien symbiote to become Venom. The entwined duo are on the run, hunted by aliens and humans alike, but not before Venom chomps a few heads. The film’s synopsis notes, “Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.”
Venom: The Last Dance stars Hardy alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham. It was directed by Kelly Marcel from a screenplay she wrote, based on a story by herself and Hardy, who also produced. The film precedes Sony’s Kraven the Hunter, due out Dec. 13.
Hardy is also starring in The Bikeriders, which follows the evolution of a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club known as the Vandals. The film was initially set for release in December, but was delayed until June 21. Written and directed by Loving filmmaker Jeff Nichols, the film features Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, Mike Faist, and Michael Shannon.
