It’s been a long few weeks since the first part of Bridgerton Season 3 debuted on Netflix, sending fans into a frenzy over the romance between Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Although the second part doesn’t debut until June 13, at least we now have a trailer to tide us over.
In the clip, Colin and Penelope are engaged, much to the horror of Eloise and the delight of Portia. But drama is still afoot, especially since Penelope has not yet told Colin her big secret about being Lady Whistledown. It features balls, returning cameos, and, of course, lavish costumes.
The description notes, “With an announcement of such magnitude comes an even greater secret… Which begs this author to wonder: Should one still reveal a truth when they stand to lose everything?”
Along with Coughlan and Newton, Bridgerton stars Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Claudia Jessie, Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, Ruth Gemmell, Hannah Dodd, and Jessica Madsen. The final four episodes of Season 3 premiere on June 13.
Bridgerton Season 3, Part 1 featured 1800s-style orchestral covers of tracks like Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey’s “Snow on the Beach” covered by the Atwood Quartet, Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” covered by Shimmer, and Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever” and BTS’ “Dynamite,” covered by Vitamin String Quartet. It also included an orchestral version of Pitbull’s 2011 hit single “Give Me Everything,” which soundtracked a key scene between Colin and Penelope.
“This again shows the world how music is the international language that transcends over boundaries more so how a hit song can remain timeless,” Pitbull wrote on Instagram, sharing a clip of the scene in which Colin confesses his feelings for Penelope. In the comment section, the official Bridgerton account added: “This author would most certainly agree with Lord Worldwide… Music speaks when words cannot.”
