Kris Jenner revealed she must undergo surgery to remove her ovaries after a doctor found a tumor.
Kris shared the health update during this week’s episode of The Kardashians Season Five while speaking with three of her children — Khloé Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner — and her boyfriend Corey Gamble.
“I wanted to tell you guys something…I went to the doctor and had my scan,” she said while struggling to hold back tears. “They found — and this just makes me really emotional — but they found a cyst and a little tumor on my ovary.”
“Dr A said I’ve gotta have my ovaries taken out, and I’m emotional about it because they came in handy with you guys,” she continued. “That’s where all my kids were conceived, and that’s where they were grown, in my tummy. So this is a very sacred place to me.”
In a confessional, Kim said she felt “really sad” for her mom and couldn’t imagine having to go through such an experience. Khloé then got sister Kourtney Kardashian on the phone so she could also hear the news.
“I totally understand how my mom is feeling because I would feel the same way,” Kourtney said. “It’s your womanly power and it doesn’t mean that it’s taking away who she is or what she’s experienced, but I would feel this sentimental feeling of what it’s created.”
Kris became emotional while discussing the idea of losing her ovaries, crying while speaking to her family. The family matriarch said it was forcing her to face the idea that she is getting older and officially being done with a part of her life.
“It’s a whole chapter that’s just closed,” she said.
“Listen, if I can get through the hip replacement, I can get through this,” Kris said, recalling the procedure she had a few years ago. “I’m not nervous to be put to sleep. I’m not nervous with Dr. A. She’s the best doctor in the world. But then you go to do it and… it’s so real.”
