Classicly designed, we found this incredibly simple to use. The Insmy waterproof shower speaker plays clear stereo sound even under the natural noisiness of showering. For such a compact speaker, we noticed that it gives off a surprisingly loud sound, too. It comes with both a lanyard and a suction cup, so you can attach it to your shower any way you’d like. Bluetooth connectivity lets you stream your favorite music, and thanks to a built-in microphone, you can even take a call in the shower if need be. Plus, the built-in rechargeable battery lasted us a full 12 hours.

EXTRA BASS

Kunodi I Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker

Just because this speaker is miniature doesn’t mean that it’s lacking in sound quality. This waterproof Kunodi pick comes with its own subwoofer, which means that it can boost and enhance big bass in your favorite tunes. Not only is this Bluetooth speaker waterproof, but it’s even shockproof and dustproof, so we didn’t have to worry about it getting damaged when in use. Its alloy metal carabiner makes it super fast and easy to attach it to your shower caddy too.

BUILT-IN RADIO

BassPal Bluetooth Shower Speaker

If you still pause your streaming to catch your favorite live radio show, you’ll want to opt for this waterproof shower speaker. It has both Bluetooth connectivity and lets you listen to FM radio, too. In our testing, we found that this high-performance speaker fills the whole bathroom with clear sound, even when competing with the noise of the shower. You can attach it to the walls of your shower with the included suction cup, and it’s safe to float in a bathtub or a pool (and even submerge a meter under for 30 minutes). We found the rechargeable battery has around an eight-hour lifespan, even with its beat-driven light show option. We also love this speaker for its LED display clock so you can always stick to your schedule.

Best of the Rest: Top-Rated Shower Speakers

SMART SHOWERHEAD

Kohler Moxie Bluetooth Showerhead

If you’re fan of minimalist smart home products, we recommend this sleek, nickel-brushed showerhead with a built-in Bluetooth speaker. Kohler, which is a well-known, trusted brand for kitchen and bath products we’ve reviewed for years, worked with Harman Kardon to create the speaker’s audio. In other words, you can expect impressive sound when using it. The speaker has a nine-hour battery life, and when it’s time to recharge it, simply remove the speaker from the showerhead’s magnetic grip and attach it to the included charging station.

Positive Customer Review: “I love this showerhead! It has a great water pressure and spray pattern, and the Bluetooth speaker is amazing. I can listen to my favorite music or podcasts while showering, and the sound quality is clear and loud. The speaker is easy to pair with my phone and it has a long battery life. The showerhead is also easy to install and it looks sleek and modern. It’s like having a spa experience at home. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who enjoys music in the shower.” — Leigh (Amazon)

How We Chose the Best Waterproof Speakers

After researching and testing waterproof shower speakers on our own, we selected our top speaker recommendations that you can buy on Amazon, including picks from brands like Kohler and more. We also looked at customer reviews of speakers, and considered must-have features like their waterproofing rating, sound quality, and functions. All of the speakers in our guide also come with ⅘ star ratings, at a minimum.

Waterproof Shower Speaking Buying Guide

While great sound is the primary goal with speakers, it’s not the only attribute to keep in mind. We looked at other aspects like size, setup, compatibility, and more, and compiled it into a handy guide here:

Sound Quality: When shopping for the best shower speaker, there’s more to your decision than simply making sure it’s waterproof. You’ll want to make sure the speaker can deliver quality sound. All of the picks in this guide are designed to deliver impressive audio for their size.

Functions & Controls: Beyond sound quality, you’ll want to consider all of the speaker’s functions, whether you’re a radio listener who wants FM functionality or you’re a strict minimalist who needs a speaker built into the showerhead. Other special features to keep in mind are that some shower speakers have built-in microphones, LCD clock displays, and even enhanced bass.

Design: For those who seek the classic route and don’t necessarily want to invest in a new showerhead that comes with its own speaker, an important thing to take into consideration is how your new shower speaker will actually fit into your shower. Some of the best shower speakers have suction cups attached to them so that they can adhere to your shower’s walls. On the other hand, some come with lanyards that allow them to hang from your showerhead or from an attached shower caddy.

Extra Features: Will your speaker also be used in the bath, or even at a pool party? Go for one that’s safe to submerge fully underwater (even if accidentally). Want to turn shower-time into a full-on disco? Some options have a built-in LED light show that pulses to the beat of your favorite tunes. Point is, these offer much more than just a speaker, so explore your options and you may find a feature you never knew you needed.

That’s That Me Exclusive: Where to Buy Every Edition of Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Short n’ Sweet’ Album

“I reckon it’s.. officially short n’ sweet month💋💋💋,” Sabrina Carpenter wrote online, weeks before dropping her highly anticipated new album. Fans can now pick up her sixth studio LP, Short n’ Sweet, online and on shelves now in a slew of exclusive vinyl variants. Staying true to its title, the 36-minute Short n’ Sweet includes tracks like “Taste,” Slim Pickins,” “Good Graces,” and, of course, “Please Please Please” and “Espresso.”

“This project is quite special to me and I hope it’ll be something special to you too,” Carpenter wrote online after debuting the Short n’ Sweet album cover and title in June.

“Short, sweet, has made an extraordinary album,” Taylor Swift shared of Short n’ Sweeton Aug. 23 on her Instagram Stories with checkmarks by each line.

Carpenter, who will embark on a sold-out North American tour in support of the album later this year, has taken over our playlists this summer, with chart-topping hits “Please Please Please,” and the undeniably catchy “Espresso.” (“I decided to put that burden on other people,” Carpenter told Rolling Stone earlier this year.)

And while everyone from your uncle to your BFF quotes its chorus with lyrics like “that’s that me espresso” every time they enter the coffee shop, Carpenter somehow followed it up with an equally quotable Short n’ Sweet track (“please don’t embarrass me, motherf-cker”). The Jack Antonoff-produced “Please Please Please” has garnered over hundreds of millions of streams alone, and propelled Carpenter to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 after it hit streaming services this summer.

“There’s like an Olivia Newton [John] feeling, there’s a Dolly feeling, there’s an incredibly super modern pop feeling,” Antonoff previously told Rolling Stone. “The little vocal runs she does are so bizarre and unique — they’re doing this really odd, classic, almost yodel-y country thing. She’s becoming one of the biggest young pop stars, and that song is such a statement of expressing yourself, not just lyrically, but sonically.”

If the tracks’ success are any indication, Carpenter’s new LP, Short N’ Sweet, is destined to become one of the biggest albums of 2024. Instead of releasing just one edition of her studio project, the “Espresso” hitmaker followed the lead of other pop superstars like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish and dropped several exclusive editions of the album.

Sabrina Carpenter Is Viscously Clever and Done With Love Triangles on ‘Short N’ Sweet’: 5 Takeaways

Sabrina Carpenter Is Viscously Clever and Done With Love Triangles on ‘Short N’ Sweet’: 5 Takeaways

After Sabrina Carpenter’s summer takeover with “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” the anticipation for Short n’ Sweet was at an all-time high. On her sixth album, the pop singer keeps the surprises coming as she delivers a masterclass in clever songwriting and hops between R&B and folk-pop with ease. Carpenter writes about the frustration of modern-day romance, all the while cementing herself as a pop classic. Here’s everything we gathered from the new project.

Please Please Please Don’t Underestimate Her Humor

Carpenter gave us a glimpse of her humor on singles “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” — she’s working late because she’s a singer; ceiling fans are a pretty great invention! But no one could have guessed how downright hilarious she is on Short n’ Sweet, delivering sugary quips like “The Lord forgot my gay awakenin’” (“Slim Pickins”) and “How’s the weather in your mother’s basement?” (“Needless to Say”). She’s also adorably nerdy, fretting about grammar (“This boy doesn’t even know/The difference between ‘there,’ ‘their’ and ‘they are!’”) and getting Shakespearian (“Where art thou? Why not uponeth me?”). On “Juno,” she even takes a subject as serious as pregnancy and twists it into a charming pop culture reference for the ages: “If you love me right, then who knows?/I might let you make me Juno.” It’s official: Do not underestimate Ms. Carpenter’s pen. — A.M.

RFK Jr. Suspends Campaign, Endorses Trump

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has suspended his 2024 presidential campaign, and according to a court filing in Pennsylvania on Friday will throw his weight behind former President Donald Trump.

Multiple news outlets reported on Wednesday that independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. was planning to drop out of the race and endorse Trump. He clarified at an event in Arizona on Friday that he is not terminating his campaign, only suspending it, and that his name will remain on the ballot in non-battleground states. He said that if enough people still vote for him and Trump and Kamala Harris tie in the Electoral College, he could still wind up in the White House.

The Chicks’ ‘Not Ready to Make Nice’ Has Somehow Become a MAGA Anthem on TikTok

One little funny/bizarre/horrifying thing about the internet is the way it offers up everything and, in doing so, makes it possible to strip anything of its history. But to paraphrase Kamala Harris, you didn’t just fall out of the coconut tree. “You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you” — wise words worth heeding, especially for all the Trump voters and conservatives making TikToks with the Chicks’ “Not Ready to Make Nice.”

Over the past month or so, “Not Ready to Make Nice” has become an unexpected MAGA anthem of sorts, meant to express a certain rage at liberals supposedly telling conservatives what to do all the time (the past few Supreme Court terms notwithstanding, apparently). Young women especially have taken the song as a way to push back against the possibility of Harris becoming the first female president.
