Since its release in September 2023, the Apple Watch Series 9 has been astounding customers with its improved innovations — and you now have the chance to pick it up at its lowest price we’ve seen this year; at $279.99 for Amazon Prime Day 2024.

The Best Apple Watch Series 9 Prime Day Deal

Apple almost never puts its products up for sale on its own site, so, our shopping experts are confident that for the last hours of Prime Day, Amazon is the best place to snag a discount if you’re still eyeing the Apple Watch Series 9. For the 41mm size, normally retailing for $399, we’ve never seen a price cut this steep where shoppers can get the model for just $279.99 on Amazon — which is 30% off the regular price. And for the slightly larger 45mm model, normally $429, you can get it for $309.99 at a whopping 28% off.

If you’ve been considering buying this model, there’s never been a better opportunity to grab one (or even gift one). For up to $120 off both models at Amazon, you can experience Apple’s latest smart watch offering for less. You can snag it in five colors (red, pink midnight, silver, starlight) — and on Amazon, you can pick up both cases with either the sports band or the nylon weave sports loop.

With a brighter display — double that of the Series 8 — it’s more easier than ever to read in full sun, and in low-light situations on the Series 9. Curious what the Apple Watch Series 9’s biggest advancement from its predecessors is? The S9 SiP. The incredibly powerful chip that’ll make you feel like an actual magician as you’re wearing your new smart watch. No, seriously: This new technology, which was created last year, allows you to use your Apple Watch without having to touch the screen. As you’re wearing it, particularly if you have your hands full, you can simply gesture by double tapping your index finger and thumb together to answer calls, open a notification, play and pause music, and so much more.

Apple’s big announcement with this model was that it’s the tech giant’s first carbon neutral product, which represents a significant milestone towards Apple’s future plan to be carbon neutral by 2030 across its entire business — according to newsroom claims.

Other features our editors love: With Series 9, Siri requests and dictation are even more accurate, new features like Precision Finding mean you can retrace your steps to find your iPhone with your watch since it’ll give you a visual indicator and show the phone’s approximate distance and direction from you. If you find yourself in an emergency situation, your Apple Watch has also got your back. It features crash and fall detection and can connect you with emergency services if you’re immobile or in danger.

Plus, the health tracker is even savvier with new cycling and hiking features, and tools to support mental health. Of course, you can still track steps, your heart rate, respiratory rate, and your sleep. The water resistance rating is also up to 50 meters. What’s not to love?

At the time of writing, we couldn’t spot the same watch on sale on Apple.com, so the Amazon deal is the ones you’ll want to take advantage of stat. The Apple Watch discount gets you the Series 9, plus a magnetic charging cable, a sport band or loop, and a user manual.

That’s That Me Exclusive: Where to Buy Every Edition of Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Short n’ Sweet’ Album

That’s That Me Exclusive: Where to Buy Every Edition of Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Short n’ Sweet’ Album

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, Rolling Stone may receive an affiliate commission.

“I reckon it’s.. officially short n’ sweet month💋💋💋,” Sabrina Carpenter wrote online, weeks before dropping her highly anticipated new album. Fans can now pick up her sixth studio LP, Short n’ Sweet, online and on shelves now in a slew of exclusive vinyl variants. Staying true to its title, the 36-minute Short n’ Sweet includes tracks like “Taste,” Slim Pickins,” “Good Graces,” and, of course, “Please Please Please” and “Espresso.”

“This project is quite special to me and I hope it’ll be something special to you too,” Carpenter wrote online after debuting the Short n’ Sweet album cover and title in June.

“Short, sweet, has made an extraordinary album,” Taylor Swift shared of Short n’ Sweeton Aug. 23 on her Instagram Stories with checkmarks by each line.

Carpenter, who will embark on a sold-out North American tour in support of the album later this year, has taken over our playlists this summer, with chart-topping hits “Please Please Please,” and the undeniably catchy “Espresso.” (“I decided to put that burden on other people,” Carpenter told Rolling Stone earlier this year.)

And while everyone from your uncle to your BFF quotes its chorus with lyrics like “that’s that me espresso” every time they enter the coffee shop, Carpenter somehow followed it up with an equally quotable Short n’ Sweet track (“please don’t embarrass me, motherf-cker”). The Jack Antonoff-produced “Please Please Please” has garnered over hundreds of millions of streams alone, and propelled Carpenter to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 after it hit streaming services this summer.

“There’s like an Olivia Newton [John] feeling, there’s a Dolly feeling, there’s an incredibly super modern pop feeling,” Antonoff previously told Rolling Stone. “The little vocal runs she does are so bizarre and unique — they’re doing this really odd, classic, almost yodel-y country thing. She’s becoming one of the biggest young pop stars, and that song is such a statement of expressing yourself, not just lyrically, but sonically.”

If the tracks’ success are any indication, Carpenter’s new LP, Short N’ Sweet, is destined to become one of the biggest albums of 2024. Instead of releasing just one edition of her studio project, the “Espresso” hitmaker followed the lead of other pop superstars like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish and dropped several exclusive editions of the album.

Sabrina Carpenter Is Viscously Clever and Done With Love Triangles on ‘Short N’ Sweet’: 5 Takeaways

Sabrina Carpenter Is Viscously Clever and Done With Love Triangles on ‘Short N’ Sweet’: 5 Takeaways

After Sabrina Carpenter’s summer takeover with “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” the anticipation for Short n’ Sweet was at an all-time high. On her sixth album, the pop singer keeps the surprises coming as she delivers a masterclass in clever songwriting and hops between R&B and folk-pop with ease. Carpenter writes about the frustration of modern-day romance, all the while cementing herself as a pop classic. Here’s everything we gathered from the new project.

Please Please Please Don’t Underestimate Her Humor

Carpenter gave us a glimpse of her humor on singles “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” — she’s working late because she’s a singer; ceiling fans are a pretty great invention! But no one could have guessed how downright hilarious she is on Short n’ Sweet, delivering sugary quips like “The Lord forgot my gay awakenin’” (“Slim Pickins”) and “How’s the weather in your mother’s basement?” (“Needless to Say”). She’s also adorably nerdy, fretting about grammar (“This boy doesn’t even know/The difference between ‘there,’ ‘their’ and ‘they are!’”) and getting Shakespearian (“Where art thou? Why not uponeth me?”). On “Juno,” she even takes a subject as serious as pregnancy and twists it into a charming pop culture reference for the ages: “If you love me right, then who knows?/I might let you make me Juno.” It’s official: Do not underestimate Ms. Carpenter’s pen. — A.M.

RFK Jr. Suspends Campaign, Endorses Trump

RFK Jr. Suspends Campaign, Endorses Trump

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has suspended his 2024 presidential campaign, and according to a court filing in Pennsylvania on Friday will throw his weight behind former President Donald Trump.

Multiple news outlets reported on Wednesday that independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. was planning to drop out of the race and endorse Trump. He clarified at an event in Arizona on Friday that he is not terminating his campaign, only suspending it, and that his name will remain on the ballot in non-battleground states. He said that if enough people still vote for him and Trump and Kamala Harris tie in the Electoral College, he could still wind up in the White House.

The Chicks’ ‘Not Ready to Make Nice’ Has Somehow Become a MAGA Anthem on TikTok

The Chicks’ ‘Not Ready to Make Nice’ Has Somehow Become a MAGA Anthem on TikTok

One little funny/bizarre/horrifying thing about the internet is the way it offers up everything and, in doing so, makes it possible to strip anything of its history. But to paraphrase Kamala Harris, you didn’t just fall out of the coconut tree. “You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you” — wise words worth heeding, especially for all the Trump voters and conservatives making TikToks with the Chicks’ “Not Ready to Make Nice.”

Over the past month or so, “Not Ready to Make Nice” has become an unexpected MAGA anthem of sorts, meant to express a certain rage at liberals supposedly telling conservatives what to do all the time (the past few Supreme Court terms notwithstanding, apparently). Young women especially have taken the song as a way to push back against the possibility of Harris becoming the first female president.
