Few artists have had the kind of summer Chappell Roan has had. The “Red Wine Supernova” singer played to massive crowds at Lollapalooza, Coachella, and Governor’s Ball, and she saw her Spotify streams double in the past two months. Her rapid ascent up the charts has made the vinyl release of her debut album, The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess hard to find, with the original pressing out of stock at many retailers. If you’re looking to pick up a copy, there are still ways to find it.
The original pressing of the album, a double LP on black vinyl, is available on Amazon and Walmart. If you’re willing to wait, Chappell Roan announced an anniversary re-release, which features a coral-colored LP with deluxe packaging and a sticker. The re-release ships on September 20, a year to the week of the album’s initial release. There are also Target-exclusive and Urban Outfitters-exclusive versions of the album, which come in unique colorways. The rereleases and retailer exclusives also ship on September 20 and can be pre-ordered now.

The Target-exclusive version is available for pre-order and features a multi-colored coral double LP and a poster. You can pre-order the Target-exclusive version now, and it’s slated to ship on September 20.
URBAN OUTFITTERS EXCLUSIVE
The Rise And Fall of a Midwest Princess – Green
The Urban Outfitters-exclusive version is pressed on a “coke bottle clear glitter vinyl”, and the double LP is in a gatefold sleeve. Like the other reissues, this variant is set to ship by September 20.
Chappell Roan toured with Olivia Rodrigo on her Guts Tour, opening for her through the winter and spring dates. The two reunited when Rodrigo brought Chappell Roan out to perform “Hot to Go!” They performed the track (and the dance) at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles during Rodrigo’s penultimate show of the US leg of the Guts Tour.
Guts and The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess share a producer in Dan Nigro, who has also worked with Sky Ferreira, Conan Gray, and Caroline Polachek. Of their partnership, Chappell Roan said in a 2022 Rolling Stone interview, “I like it when people push me and tell me that my lyrics or the performance is not good enough. That’s not really the case for most co-writers out here that I’ve worked with. Until I met Dan.” Their first collaboration was 2018’s “Pink Pony Club,” which is featured on the full-length.
Chappell Roan also recently took to TikTok to air her frustrations around invasive fan behavior, saying, “It’s weird how people think that you know a person just because you see them online and you listen to the art they make. That’s fucking weird. I’m allowed to say no to creepy behavior.”
The album is pressed on a 2xLP vinyl and features 14 tracks. On all of the pressings, the tracks are split up on the three sides, leaving the fourth side blank.
