JoJo Siwa was just getting started with “Karma.” The former child star is rolling out more new tunes — and previewed her next in a new Instagram video.
In the post teasing her next single, Siwa is seen sitting on the floor of what appears to be a dance studio, talking to someone off-camera. “For the last few weeks, the world has been fucking brutal,” she says, referring to the mixed response to “Karma.”
“They’ve been talking so much shit… but I don’t give a fuck,” she continues before shouting, “Choose your fighter, bitch!”
The audio on the video reveals that the name of the song is in fact “Choose Ur Fighter.” The new wave-y single can be heard in the background as well. In the caption, she writes “Ready or not… here it comes.”
Siwa got her start on Dance Moms before building a merchandising empire as a tween, thanks to her signature bows. From there, she built multiple successful YouTube channels, where she independently released more baby-friendly pop music and had a partnership with Nickelodeon. After parting ways with Nickelodeon, Siwa has been trying to establish a more adult career. She competed on Dancing With the Stars as part of the series’ first same-sex dancer-star pairing in the show’s 30 seasons.
Lately, the 21-year-old has been focused on reviving her music career. She was signed to Columbia and dropped “Karma” earlier this year. The song came on the heels of a report from Rolling Stone on the allegedly toxic work environment created by Siwa and her mother for the girl group she put together on her show Siwa’s Dance Pop Revolution. Both the singer and mom have denied all allegations via their counsel.
